Who is Tom Gentile?
Tom Gentile is an expert trader who trades options, futures, and stocks.
He has close to 30 years of experience in the finance industry. Some of his colleagues refer to him as America’s #1 pattern trader; however, I don’t think that reference has anything to do with the definition of a “pattern trader” in the conventional sense.
A pattern day trader (notice the word “day” is included) is defined by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) as a trader who uses a margin account to execute at least four day-trades in five business days.
What pattern trader may mean in Tom’s case is his propensity to develop rules-based strategies and investing in technology-based investing tools that help him speculate efficiently.
He claims to have spent millions of dollars on his patent-pending investing tools. All his trading services are based on these tools.
He began investing in the stock market while he was still living with his parents in 1986. At the time, he was working at Home Depot for 60 hours a week.

Optionetics and Tom’s Teaching Career
Without formal training on how the markets work, he dedicated himself to learning the ins and outs of trading. He was particularly interested in trading options and in 1993, he partnered with other investors to start an educational company called Optionetics.
In a few years, Optionetics was one of the leading educational companies that specialized in options education.
They sold it in 2009 to optionsXpress, and finally to Charles Schwab for millions of dollars. At that point, Tom was a multimillionaire.
Rather than retire, he decided that he would start teaching people how to become better investors. His students mainly comprise of Main Street investors, who are usually not as well informed as their more affluent counterparts on Wall Street.
Since 2009, he has taught more than 300,000 people how to find low-risk trade opportunities. He has achieved that by holding seminars, workshops, and sponsored events as well as publishing investment research services.

Tom Gentile’s Trading Style
Tom Gentile uses software tools to analyze the market to enable him and his subscribers to get in on money-making patterns. Most of his recommendations take advantage of fast-moving trends and, therefore, he typically holds them for a short period.
Although he identifies himself as a pattern trader, I think he is more of a Swing Trader. He fits the description because most of what he does is target investments that are likely to yield short- to medium-term returns over a period that lasts anywhere from a few days to several weeks.
He uses technical analysis to look for opportunities and fundamental analysis to analyze price trends and patterns. From his presentations, it is evident that he uses a blend of quantitative and qualitative analysis.
A dalliance with software
As we’ve seen, he relies on software to spot profit patterns. His interest in software development began while he was still working for Home Depot.
At the time, he designed a program that organized the store’s stock.
When he started trading, he used his design skills to create algorithms that enabled him to spot patterns that would be impossible to identify unaided. His most noteworthy algorithms are the Money Calendar Tool and Triple-V Protocol.
Cryptocurrency
Tom spent five years studying how cryptocurrencies work. He also mined and traded them.
He learned how to spot lucrative patterns in the crypto market and decided to share his insights with his students. He does that through his crypto-centric investment service, Microcurrency Trader.

What Services Does Tom Gentile Offer?
Tom publishes the following services on Money Map Press:
The Money Calendar Alert
He uses the Money Calendar tool to look for double-digit winners.
The winners are usually based on small stock price moves that would be impossible to find with the naked eyes.
Weekly Money Call
The Weekly Money Call uses a profit pattern that can double your money in four days. The idea behind it is that Tom seeks profit patterns in the market, notifies you about them at the beginning of the week so that you can exit at the end of the week. He sets “profit alarms” on Fridays.

V3 Trader
Tom bases the V3 Trader service on an algorithm called the Triple-V protocol.
The program examines the market where large trading volumes are involved to spot profit opportunities.
Alpha-9 Trader
Tom uses a powerful algorithm that has an artificial intelligence component to find profitable trades in all markets. It spots triple stack compression trends.
Fast Fortune Club
Tom runs an algorithm to spot profitable plays. This service is suited to beginners because he shares a bunch of educational materials with his readers.
Cryptocurrency Windfalls
If you subscribe to this service, Gentile will share trading opportunities that involve altcoins since they are more volatile and, therefore, likely to yield higher returns. The downside is that they also expose you to greater risk.
He has an algorithm that evaluates the movements of those cryptos and he uses it to spot profit opportunities that he then shares with his readers.

These books are meant to help other self-taught traders advance their trading skills to become more successful traders.
In addition to writing books, he has made TV appearances on Bloomberg, Reuters, Fox Business with Neil Cavuto, Squawk Box, and CNBC US.
He hosts radio shows too. He currently has his hands full with “Tuesdays with Tom” on WHNZ in Tampa and “Around the World” on iHeart Radio.
