I recently encountered Robert Kiyosaki’s book “The Lazy Way To Invest In Real Estate” on investing in real estate.
He claims to have found a way to invest in real estate that is relatively risk-free, convenient, and affordable.
He promises that you can use it to earn a regular income from the housing market without needing to have savings. You barely have to invest your money in it and yet you may earn up to $8,374 each month.
In this article, I will walk you through the presentation he used to advertise the book. Hopefully, you will be in a better position by the end of it to judge whether it is worth your time.

What is The Lazy Way to Invest in Real Estate?
The Lazy Way to Invest in Real Estate is a book written by Robert Kiyosaki outlining ways through which you can invest in the real estate market.
As its name suggests, it is a guide that shows you how to invest in the lucrative sector without having to use conventional means of investment. By conventional, I mean things like investing in REITs, flipping houses, or becoming a landlord.
As he says in his presentation:
“Did you know you can now earn up to $8,374 or more each month from real estate… WITHOUT having to deal with backed-up toilets… unreliable and expensive property managers… or angry tenants… And often without investing a single cent of your savings?”
What this means is that he promises to show you how to start your investment journey even when you don’t have savings.
Kiyosaki has always been an advocate of making your money work for you rather than you having to work for money. That ties in with his message throughout the book.

Who Is Robert Kiyosaki?
Robert Kiyosaki is best known as the author of Rich Dad Poor Dad. It is a wildly successful personal finance book that has sold more than 27 million copies worldwide and been translated into 51 languages (as I write this article).
The principles he encapsulated in that book have dominated his approach to investing ever since. The overriding theme of the book is that you need to make your money work for you rather than work for your money if you want to become rich.
He is a prolific author, having published more than 26 books.
Other than writing books, he has been a real estate investor for more than a decade. He owns over 10,000 units that earn him more than one million dollars in rent each month. He has also invested in the oil market; he owns a few wells in Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas.

How Kiyosaki Wants You to Invest in Real Estate
If you are not going to create a real estate portfolio or become a landlord, how else can you invest in real estate?
Kiyosaki has an interesting approach:
“…I’ll show you a low-stress way to rake-in monthly real estate income that I call the “Monopoly Method.” After all… if you’ve ever played America’s most popular board game… You know the most powerful player is the banker.”
He implies that you can start making money in real estate by taking the role of the banker. The role of a banker in the real estate business is to issue loans that people use to finance their purchases:
“Because Instead Of Buying And Renting Out A Property…You Collect Mortgage Payments Directly From Property Owners.”
He says that in addition to the convenience of not having to deal with tenants, his method of investing is so secure, you can manage it from your IRA. He adds:
“And one of the best places to find these “Monopoly Method” opportunities is at your local bank…”
He adds that this method works whether the stock market is up or down or the real estate market is hot or cold.
In addition to the “Monopoly Method,” Robert shares a few other secrets that can enhance your chances of succeeding in the housing market. Here are a few of the lessons he teaches:
- The Blackstone Loophole. He shows you how to invest in private real estate while bypassing the hurdles that hamper retail investors.
- The Alexander Hamilton Secret: he teaches you how to invest without subjecting yourself to unnecessary risks.
- President Trump’s $11 billion subsidies. He talks about an $11 billion loophole that was embedded in Trump’s Tax Plan. He says that it involves a real estate investment that is obligated to pay 90% of its profits to stakeholders.
- First-in Real Estate plays. These are a form of investment that gives you access to regular rental checks without managing a property.

Conclusion
Robert Kiyosaki wrote The Lazy Way to Invest in Real Estate to give Main Street investors an easy way to get into the real estate market and collect a regular income.
He acknowledges that when most people hear about investing in real estate, they instantly think of becoming landlords, flipping houses, or investing in REITs.
But he thinks you can be involved without having to engage in any of those forms of investing and at the same time take home a regular income.
This book speaks to you if you haven’t got any savings but would like to try your hand at the housing market. Robert Kiyosaki stresses throughout that when you read the book, you will reveal hidden truths that will enable you to profit from the real estate industry without having to invest a fortune.
