What is Jeff Brown’s Day One Summit?

Jeff Brown is known for his technology-centric investment insights and in his latest webinar, he will be talking about investing in early-stage startups.

Jeff Brown's Day One SummitHe is an angel investor and knows a great deal about investing in startups. I have reviewed past webinars he has hosted like The Pre-IPO Code and Silicon Valley Unlocked.

Suffice to say, he is a big fan of private investing, but not just for the sake of it. He claims that the ideal situation is to get in on the deal on “day one.”

“Day One.

It’s the Holy Grail of investing.

Being able to back revolutionary companies at their very start.

Like when 7 investors were asked to invest in Airbnb back in 2008…

Or when 60 friends were invited to back Amazon in 1994.

(Day One investors say extraordinary gains of 340,000X. Enough to turn $100 into a generational fortune!)”

I should point out that those examples are not the norm because statistically, a majority of startups fail and only a small percentage succeed.

Why is Jeff Brown into startup investing and why does he think he has the tools to do well in this niche?

In an article he wrote for the Bleeding Edge, he explains his fascination with early-stage private companies.

He writes:

“One of the things that I really enjoy about investing in early stage private companies is that I’m always dealing with imperfect information. That may seem counterintuitive. After all, the more information the better, right?

In general, that’s true. But as an investor looking to have an edge, we must acquire expertise in understanding these kinds of valuations with imperfect information. And we must know how to assess the growth potential of a team and their product or service. These factors will grant us a huge advantage.

And that’s the kind of advantage that we’ll have in Day One Investor.”

From that, we learn that Jeff may be planning to launch a new advisory service called Day One Investor.

What will be discussed at Jeff Brown’s Day One Summit?

Jeff Brown says that he will be peeling back the curtain to show investors how to invest on Day One of private deals even when they are not accredited investors.

He will also recommend his first ‘Day One’ deal to his listeners.

In the article I referenced above, he says that he has been working on the project for seven years and he will be introducing us to a private investment asset class.

Closing Remarks on Jeff Brown’s Day One Summit

Jeff Brown’s Day One Summit is about investing in private companies that are just getting off the ground. He says that he will show investors how to invest on day one.

I am not sure whether he is talking about investing in the first round of funding or investing before a company goes public when he says “day one.” But what I can tell is that he is talking about investing in early stage startups (possibly in the tech sector because he is known for technology-based recommendations).

Since it is a free event to attend, I think it is worth checking out if you are interested in private investments, particularly in the technology industry. You will learn something from it because Jeff is one of the most experienced analysts out there.
