What Is Fluorescent Sand? Legit 5G Stock?

Fluorescent Sand is the title of a presentation that was made by Ian King, an editor at Banyan Hill. He rarely pitches his newsletter but in this ad, he did his best to grab our attention with claims like this:

“You can get in on the ground floor of a potential $12 trillion revenue stream….

At just $5 a share, this is the best bargain you can find in the stock market. Period.”

He was teasing a $5 stock that would be your gateway to a $12 trillion industry.

Although the presentation was made in 2019, these webinars tend to resurface when a newsletter editor decides to renew interest in their service.

Thus, I decided to write this article to walk you through the main points that Ian King made in the presentation as well as reveal his real motive for hosting the webinar in the first place.

What is Fluorescent Sand?

Before we even get down to the talking points, the “Fluorescent Sand” pitch was meant to pique your interest in Ian King’s newsletter, Automatic Fortunes.

Although I have decided to go with “Fluorescent Sand” as the title of the presentation, “The $5 Stock Leading the 5G Revolution” would have been just as appropriate.

Fluorescent Sand (Ian King) Reviews

From that admission, it is apparent that the theme of the video is ‘investing in 5G’ and Ian is predicting that it could spurn an industry worth $12 trillion.

Fluorescent sand, in this context, is fiber optic cables. As King describes it:

“Physicist Sir Charles Kao figured out that ordinary sand can be transformed into crystal clear, pure glass. And that glass can be turned into long, wire-like strands that can transmit lasers carrying data.

If you guessed that I’m talking about fiber optics, you’re absolutely correct.

In fact, you may have heard about how fiber optics holds the key to 5G and America’s next-generation wireless network.”

By referring to fiber optic cables as “fluorescent sand,” he is simply referring to the glass used to manufacture the cables.

Since a fiber-optic network is usually used for low-latency data transfer purposes, therein lies the connection with the 5G network. Here is what he says:

“Fluorescent sand is the secret to lightning-fast 5G that’ll usher in the next wave of technological progress.”

How Can You Invest in Fluorescent Sand?

How will you get a cut of the $12 trillion 5G industry?

King thinks you should invest in a $5 company that will be involved in the 5G revolution.

In doing so, you will follow the lead of some recognizable institutional investors like BlackRock, JPMorgan Chase, and US Bancorp who have invested in it.

That shouldn’t get you that much excited because those investment banks, through mutual funds, have a hand in nearly every public company in the market.

Here is what he says about the company:

“In short, this company is advancing the true potential of smart homes, driverless cars, blockchain networks, robots, and every other tech trend you’ve been hearing about.

They hold the key to unlocking the power of these grains of sand. Of course, not in its raw state….”

He stops short of directly linking the company to fiber optic cables. Instead, he reveals that the company will bridge the fiber optic network with the wireless 5G connections:

“This firm makes the device that links you to the fiber optics beneath your feet and to the wireless 5G networks, that’ll soon be powering your Wi-Fi devices and much much more.”

It manufactures a device that acts as a modem. Here is how he describes it:

“They’ve mass produced a simple device, roughly the size of a thermostat. It can be placed in the corner of your living room…”

“The result: Lightning-fast wireless from the fiber optic cables beneath your feet… To the devices in your hands, car, home, office and beyond.”

As for its outlook, he expects it to sell up to 151 million devices to millions of customers in the US and Asia thus increasing its revenue significantly. He even says that AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile have partnered with it ahead of the 5G rollout.

What Is Automatic Fortunes?

Automatic Fortunes is edited by Ian King and published by Banyan Hill. The main reason behind starting the newsletter was to help retail investors identify trends that may spark a technological revolution.

The subsectors that fall under the revolution-worthy category include things like 5G and artificial intelligence.

King and his team look for under-the-radar stocks (associated with those subsectors) that may deliver large profits in one swoop. He avoids large-caps and goes for mid-cap stocks in the $2 billion to $10 billion range.

He utilizes a four-step strategy and shares his findings with his readers every month.

When you subscribe to Automatic Fortunes, you will be entitled to:

  • The monthly dispatch: Each month, King dives into a tipping-point trend and suggests a stock linked to it that you should add to your portfolio. He attaches an eight-page report delineating the opportunity.
  • Access to King’s model portfolio: The model portfolio includes stocks that are on his “buy now” list as well as new additions – typically one every month. He provides you with details on the ideal buying price as well as when to sell.
  • Trade alerts: When the time is right, King sends you an alert instructing you to close your position.
  • Weekly webinar: Every Thursday, King sends you an update of his outlook via a webinar. He analyzes relevant events in the market too.
  • Daily briefings: You are also automatically subscribed to the Sovereign Investor Daily, a free daily e-letter.

The subscription fee, Refund Policy, and Total Wealth Insider

The subscription fee for one year of Automatic Fortunes is $97 and it comes with a money-back guarantee.

You also receive a free three-month trial of Matt Badiali’s Total Wealth Insider. I should warn you that as soon as the trial finishes, you will be charged $97 for a one-year subscription. If you don’t want that, you must communicate with the customer support team before the three-month trial finishes.

“Fluorescent Sand” Conclusion

The premise of the “Fluorescent Sand” presentation by Ian King is to promote his Automatic Fortunes newsletter.

The 5G story is a staple in the newsletter world these days because it could be the harbinger of technologies like self-driving cars, robotic surgery, and IoT. If you invest in the right 5G stocks, you may make a lot of money in the long run.

The challenge is to find the right stocks, which is what all the editors – including Ian King – are promising to help with.

The company that King is suggesting here is called Inseego (INSG) and as I was writing this article (in mid-June 2020), the share price is $10. That means it has doubled since Ian King released his presentation because back then it traded at $5.

If you subscribe to Automatic Fortunes, remember to unsubscribe to the Total Wealth Insider if you don’t want to pay for it at the end of the free subscription period of three months. Many people forget to unsubscribe and end up paying for something they never wanted.
